George Trumbull Miller was a Scottish-Australian film and television director and producer.

He was born on November 28, 1943 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Miller and his family emigrated to Australia when he was four years old. His father worked as a coal miner and his mother worked in the kitchen at Parliament House in Melbourne.

Following high school, Miller began working in the mailroom of Crawford Productions. He landed his first job as a cameraman at aged 21, soon working on “Division 4,” “Matlock Police,” “The Box” and “The Sullivans.”

Miller rose to prominence for his 1982 film “The Man From Snowy River,” starring Kirk Douglas. The film grossed $17.2 million in Australia and reached more than $20 million worldwide, spawning a sequel.

After the hit film The Man from Snowy River, Miller moved to Hollywood in the early ’90s and directed several hits movies including The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1990), the Christmas movie In the Nick of Time (1991), Silver Strand (1995), the family movie Zeus and Roxanne (1997), In the Doghouse (1998), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1999), Attack of the Sabertooth (2005), et al.
