Today I think everyone was shocked with the news of John Primm’s passing. The whole day I have been reflecting on him as a teacher, an uncle, a friend, an advisor, a second dad, a christian, the greatest user of corny jokes and puns this generation has ever seen and a truly good man.

He touched so many lives through who he was. Constantly reminding us we can do it even when we didn’t think we could. There is no way to encapsulate with words all of who he was for so many.

Personally for me, he will be the man who prayed before my family’s holiday meals. Had been my dads best friend for 50 years. The uncle who would call just to check in and see how I was doing. The teacher who pushed me to go to college and made me believe I could be successful if I worked hard enough and believed in myself. The guy I would see at school, then see at 5:30 when we met him out to eat for dinner. The man who gave me my name.

My dear friend and coworker, John Primm. You were loved by many and showed love to all that you came in contact with. For over 15 years you encouraged me and pushed me in and outside of the classroom! You were my go to person at school when I needed advice on how to handle a situation in the classroom or just needed to talk. You always knew when I was down or there was something bothering me. You would always make it a point to come and find me to check on me, pray with me or encourage me.

Both of our boys were blessed to have him as not only a history teacher but as mentor!! A teacher that always encouraged them and pushed them to be their best.

My life has been blessed to know you and work along side of you, Mr. Primm. Thank you for being a true friend and mentor!! Heaven gained one of the best today!!💙. #BeLikeJohn
